Welcome to the VCSE stop smoking referral pathway

To make a stop smoking client referral please follow one of the three options below.

Welcome

We are thrilled to introduce an exciting new opportunity for your organisation to make a meaningful impact on the health of our Bolton community – while also benefiting you financially.

Why the VCSE sector?

We know that thousands of smokers will come into contact with a VCSE organisation every week in Bolton and are likely to have trusted and established relationships. This is a great starting point to support smokers to attempt a quit and overcome the burden of tobacco addiction, reduce ill health, become financially better off, improve mental health, and ultimately lead longer, healthier lives!

Payment to the VCSE organisation

We provide free resources and up to £200 per successful quitter – This money can be utilised in any way your organisation sees fit, investing in new initiatives, supporting existing programmes, or furthering your work in the community – the choice is yours!

What’s involved?

  • Your organisation will receive £100 for every successful smoking referral you make to the Specialist Stop Smoking Service – ABL Health Bolton. The smoker will need to begin a 12-week programme of support & set a quit date for payment to be made.

  • There will be an additional payment of £100 to your organisation if the smoker you refer becomes a verified 4-week quit – verified by the ABL Health Specialist Stop Smoking Service ‘Your Health Bolton’.

How do you become a VCSE sector stop smoking referrer?

  • Attend a free 90 min briefing session – in person/online run by the ABL Health specialist stop smoking service.

  • Includes – full description of the VCSE sector stop smoking referral pathway and how to make a quick & simple referral, followed by a Stop Smoking ‘Very Brief Advice’ guidance workshop.

I hope that you will join us in supporting the health and wellbeing of the people and communities of Bolton. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be glad to discuss the initiative further by email, telephone or face to face.
